Hi, I’m Gargi!

My name is Gargi Guchhait. You can call me GG. I am UX researcher and multidisciplinary designer with a background in architecture.

I design bridges between people,
sometimes across time and sometimes across distance.

My Works

How I work

  • Start with a real person

Aida no Kimochi began with a working mother of three describing her evenings.

  • Make it something people can try

VR scenes, footsteps on a floor, a soft toy with an app. People react to a thing, not a description.

  • Test in workshops

Workshops and testing with teenagers in India and Japan.

  • Show the work in public

Exhibitions at the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum and the University of Tokyo, and a published paper.

About

I trained and worked as an architect in India. One building serves a small group of people, and it takes years and a lot of money. I wanted my design thinking to reach more people, so I moved to media design and then to research.

Now I study how design and technology can help people understand each other across distance, generations and history.
